Specialist Leaders of Education

SWTSA is recruiting - Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs)

Introduction:

The South West Teaching School Alliance (TSA) relies on expertise and talent from within.  We make a difference to the life chances of our students through reflective practice and collaborative improvement.  Our SLEs work with Subject Leaders, departments and Leadership Teams: identifying specific strategies and practical actions, which catalyse progress. We are currently looking to recruit SLEs to join the South West Teaching School Alliance team, in the following areas: Design and Technology, Music, ICT, PE, Science, Social Science, Vocational Learning and Media.

Eligibility:

SLEs are outstanding middle and senior leaders who have been in a leadership role other than headteacher for at least 2 years. They have a particular area of expertise (subject area, behaviour, early years, inclusion) and a track record of school improvement.  SLEs support leaders through school-to-school support, developing the capacity and capability of leaders, whether through coaching or mentoring, facilitating a subject network group or joint action planning.  SLEs will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

As part of the application process, your head teacher is required to confirm that you are in an appropriate role, and will support you in being released from their school for an agreed allocation of time.
